AURELIUS takes over a leading special logistics company in DFA Transport und Logistik GmbH
The industrial holding AURELIUS AG, listed since June (ISIN: DE000A0JK2A8), has acquired a 100% stake in DFA Transport und Logistik GmbH, Ronneburg. DFA is a leading special logistics company with a focus on special transports with permits for radioactive materials and a wide range of other types of hazardous waste. This gives the company an exemplary status in the ongoing renovation of the uranium mines in the former East German states. One of its customers is the State. With commissions in Austria and Hungary the company has additionally succeeded in expanding internationally. The eminently profitable special logistics company DFA generated sales of € 20 million last year and employed around 200 people.
In accordance with the AURELIUS business philosophy, the company was purchased at a price well below its asset value. In taking over DFA, AURELIUS also acquired two pieces of real property with a total area of 95,000 m2 in Ronneburg (Thuringia) and Bad Schlema (Saxony). The AURELIUS Task Force, a specialized operative team, will immediately be put on the project to quickly realize potential improvements on both the costs and sales sides.
"In DFA we have acquired the leading special logistics company in former East Germany at a price well below its intrinsic value“, says AURELIUS AG CEO Dr. Dirk Markus. "Our goal is now to further consolidate DFA's market leading position and further its national and international expansion to keep increasing the company's value.“
The management board of AURELIUS plans further acquisitions in 2006.
AURELIUS AG, Munich (www.aureliusinvest.de) acquires mid-cap companies and corporate spin-offs which are no longer part of the core business of the previous owner. AURELIUS also acquires companies in difficult and complex situations and actively grows and develops them. Using its own specialized Task Force, AURELIUS increases the value of its investments to the benefit of all parties, with great awareness of its social responsibility. The shares of AURELIUS AG trade under AR4 (ISIN: DE000A0JK2A8) on the Open Market of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
