AURELIUS acquires Schleicher Electronic from Wieland Group
The Munich based industrial holding AURELIUS AG (ISIN:
DE000A0JK2A8) acquires all shares of Schleicher Electronic
GmbH & Co. KG, Berlin, effective from 1st July. Seller is
the Wieland Holding which is headquartered in Bamberg.
Schleicher Electronic is a leading manufacturer of
automation and safety systems focussing on the
implementation of process automation applications in
machine- and plant engineering industries. In this context,
Schleicher develops and produces electronic components and
systems, that range from the wiring- to the control-/
motion-level, for renowned customers plant- and logistics
automation customers. In 2006, 120 employees located in
Berlin generated a turnover of approximately EUR 20m. The
concentration of Wieland Group on its three business areas
electrical connection technology for industries, pluggable
connections for building services engineering, and
industrial and building services electronics, has led to the
decision to sell the subsidiary. Schleicher continues to be
a important supplier for the Wieland Group in the future.
With this third acquisition in 2007, AURELIUS confirmed
again its core competence – being a new “good home” for the
portfolio companies. “With our long-term and value oriented
investment strategy, we do not only want to grasp new
domestic and foreign growth possibilities for Schleicher
Electronic, but also want to be a reliable partner as future

Wieland Holding, generating with 2.000 employees sales
amounting to more than EUR 200m, includes three independent
subsidiaries: Wieland Electric, Stocko Contact. They cover
