Book Club Associates Ltd.

Book Club Associates (BCA) was established in Great Britain in 1966 as is now the country's largest mail order book retailer. In addition to being a conventional book club with a general focus, it also operates six special book clubs addressing different target groups. The subject areas covered range from children’s’ books and fantasy & science fiction to history books and collectables. BCA’s customer base currently consists of almost 700,000 members. Sales are generated solely based on the book club model.

Great Britain is the third largest market for book mail order in Europe. In July 2008, owner Bertelsmann AG announced that it was initiating the sale process for DirectGroup operations in a total of nine countries and therefore focusing the business of DirectGroup on large continental European markets.
