Wellman International Limited, with headquarters in Mullagh, Irland, is the largest European recycler of post-consumer PET bottles as well as a leading producer of PSF. The two recycling plants at Spijk, the Netherlands, and at Verdun, France, purchase post-consumer bottles throughout Europe and convert them into r-PET, through a process of sorting, washing, grinding and separation. Currently, most of the r-PET produced at its recycling plants is used as a raw material for the company’s PSF op-erations, but it can also be used as a raw material for producers of packaging and strapping. Wellman International produces in its plant in Ireland a comprehensive range of PSF types (solid round, hollow, trilobal, bi-component, black and spiral fi-bres) for sale to manufacturers in different industries that are used in a wide spec-trum of applications (upholstered furniture, quilts and pillows, personal hygiene, automotive, geo-textiles and filtration).
